Avanan's research into how a little-used PowerPoint extension is being used to wrap executable files was featured in ZDNet. In the attack, threat actors are hiding and wrapping files that can take over the user's computer. As ZDNet writes:  

The company began seeing the attack vector in January, noting that the .ppam files were used to wrap executable files in a way that allows hackers to "take over the end-user's computer." Most of the attacks are coming through email.
