The workflow asking end-users to enter the password to their encrypted attachments now supports Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF attachments.
We recently released an innovative workflow to handle password-protected attachments. With this workflow, if Avanan cannot extract the password of the encrypted attachment in any way, the attachment is removed from the email and the user is prompted to provide its password. Avanan then scans the attachment using the provided password and if found benign, delivers the original email to the end user.
At first, this workflow supported password-protected archive files, which account for the majority of the password-protected email attachments.
This workflow is now extended to also support password-protected Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF attachments.
