A DLP policy rule can now be matched if a string in the email subject matches a custom regular expression

Administrators want to prevent sensitive emails from leaving the organization to unauthorized recipients.

While most of the time, it means looking through the email and its attachments for sensitive data, in some cases the policy requires a different type of matching.

Avanan now supports defining a regular expression, so that regardless of the data in the email/attachments, if it matches a string in the email subject, the DLP policy rule will match.

This new capability allows organizations to support more data leakage scenarios, be it a result of a company policy requiring end-users to add a text to the email subject, an automated system that does so or many others.
