Click Time Protection is Avanan's URL time-of-click protection solution. When the email is processed by Avanan in Inline mode, a rewrite mechanism is wrapping the original URL to point to Avanan's servers. When the user clicks on the URL, Avanan scans it in real time, blocking threats that may have been unknown when the email first arrived and scanned.
The new URL format aims to simplify the URL format. Here is the new URL format:
https://url.avanan.click/v2/___<originalurl>___<encrypted blob>
The main changes are:
The original URL is surrounded by underscores, making it easier to identify the original (rewritten) URL
Overall shorter URL
New domain - url.avanan.click
The new URL format will become the default version starting June 14th, 2021.
