New research from Check Point shows that there are 40% more attacks per week in 2021 compared to 2020.

In fact, in September of this year, the average weekly number of attacks on each organization worldwide hit 870, more than double the number in March 2020.

Further, Check Point researchers found that, on average this year, 1 out of every 61 organizations is impacted by ransomware per week.  For some industries, like healthcare, that number is higher. For healthcare, that number is 1 out of every 44, a 39% increase over last year.

In all, ransomware has increased by 9% over last year.

This research underscores the importance of a prevention-first security approach. By preventing the attack from reaching the inbox, your organization remains safer. Relying on detection and response will miss emerging attacks and respond far too late once a campaign starts.
